First Nations Community HealthSource. FNCH is a voluntary, non-profit, independent health and human services organization, incorporated in the State of New Mexico as a 501 (c)(3) organization.

First Nations Community HealthSource (FNCH) is committed to providing a culturally competent, comprehensive health service delivery system integrating traditional values to enhance the physical, spiritual, emotional and mental well-being of American Indians and other underserved populations residing in Albuquerque and the surrounding tribes.

The main contracts and grants that fund FNCH are:

\
Indian Health Service
\
Private Foundations
\
City of Albuquerque
\
Federal Agencies (e.g., Substance Abuse and Mental Health Administration)
\
State of New Mexico
Because of these contract requirements and grants, record keeping and detailed financial reports are required on a regular basis.

FNCH was established in 1972 as the Albuquerque Indian Health Center, which worked to improve the behavioral and health status of American Indians. The Board of Directors changed the organization’s name to FNCH in September 1995 to reflect the agency’s commitment to serve all underserved populations in Albuquerque. Because of the demand for services from the neighboring Pueblos, the organization expanded its service delivery area to include tribal reservations. FNCH is a federally qualified health center and the only Title V urban Indian Health program in New Mexico.

FNCH has several years of experience in developing integrated and coordinated behavioral health, dental, prevention, primary care and support services for American Indians and other underserved populations. Services include prevention and wellness, traditional healing, behavioral health, primary care, dental, HIV/AIDS case management and prevention, substance abuse prevention, Medicaid Enrollment, and Women, Infant and Children’s (WIC) Nutritional Support. Also, FNCH has several years of experience in providing traditional indigenous services (i.e., acupuncture, massage therapy, traditional healing, and herbal consultations) to American Indians.
